A Libyan shipping company says it has halted oil deliveries to Switzerland to protest the arrest there of Moammar Gadhafi's son.

The head of Libya's General National Maritime Transportation Company says it stopped all the country's oil shipments to Switzerland on Wednesday.

Ali Bilhajj Ahmed says the action by his state-run shipping company was an appropriate response, calling it the "least we should do." He says the shipments amount to 40 percent of the company's business, but gave no figure on the amount of oil involved.

Hannibal Gadhafi and his wife were taken into police custody last week for allegedly beating two of their servants at a luxury hotel in Geneva, according to their lawyer.

Libyan "revenge" against Switzerland
In response to the detention of Hannibal Gaddafi in Geneva last week is in the spotlight of the Swiss press.
The newspapers have taken the opportunity to look at the nature of the Libyan regime – and Moammar Gaddafi's system of government is shown in a bad light.

The Swiss foreign ministry reported on Wednesday that Libya had taken "worrying retaliatory measures", including the closure of Swiss businesses in the country and the detention of two Swiss citizens.

Hannibal and his heavily pregnant wife Aline were detained in a Geneva hotel after two of their servants complained of severe mistreatment.

His sister, Aisha, warned last week that Libya would respond on the principle of "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth", as Le Temps of Geneva recalls.

"The Gaddafi clan takes revenge," is the headline in Bern's Bund newspaper.

"In Libya the Gaddafis see to it that might prevails," says the Tages-Anzeiger of Zurich. It goes on to describe Libya as "a paradise for shadowy foreign businessmen" who appreciate the fact that there are "no clear laws".

In its editorial the paper says that Gaddafi is reacting "as if the law was not the same for everyone in Switzerland".

For the Lausanne-based Le Matin too, the action taken by the Geneva police against Hannibal deserves praise. "It's easier to pick up a few Roma beggars under a bridge and dump them at the border than to arrest the son of a dictator in a five star hotel."

"We would have been glad to avoid the retaliatory measures taken by Libya," it says. "But that's the price to pay if we want to remain credible. If we want to make sure our laws are respected by all, including the rich tourists so beloved by our luxury shops and hotels."

Gaddafi arrest brings anti-Swiss backlash

Switzerland accused Libya yesterday of taking "worrying retaliatory measures" against its citizens as relations between the countries deteriorated a week after the Swiss authorities had arres-ted the son of the Libyan leader, Muammer Gaddafi.

The Swiss foreign ministry said two of its nationals had been under arrest in the north African country since Saturday and that Swiss businesses, including the local offices of food group Nestlé and the engineering group ABB, had been ordered to close.

Hannibal Gaddafi and his wife were arrested last week and later released on bail after two of their staff accused them of assault during an incident at a luxury Geneva hotel. He spent two days in detention while his wife, who is pregnant, was taken to hospital.

Switzerland sent a delegation to Libya yesterday to "give explanations" to the Libyan authorities over the arrest and, it said, "prevent a crisis". But dozens of Libyans demonstrated in front of the Swiss embassy in Tripoli calling for an apology. Mostly members of the Revolutionary Committees, which are close to the authorities, they handed a statement to the ambassador reportedly threatening that in the absence of an apology, they would demand that parliament take punitive steps against Switzerland.

These would include the withdrawal of Libyan money from Swiss banks, the barring of Swiss companies from competing for Libyan contracts and a halt in oil sales to the European country. According to US Department of Energy figures, Switzerland imports more than 20 per cent of its oil from Libya.

"One cannot completely exclude the risk of having Libyan oil deliveries to Switzerland suspended, but it doesn't look very realistic, because Libya hasn't mentioned this scenario,'' said Jean-Marc Crevoisier, of the Swiss foreign ministry.

But the ministry has told its citizens not to travel to Libya, warning them that they are likely to face arrest at the "slightest irregularities" in their papers. Libya has also ordered a reduction in air links between the two countries. Swiss International Airlines says it was told it could fly to Libya only once a week, instead of three times.

Libya has also recalled some of its diplomats in Bern and it has stopped issuing visas to Swiss citizens.

Robin Tickell, a Nestlé spokesman, said the general manager and sole employee of its representative office in Tripoli, an Egyptian nat-ion-al, was questioned by police on Sunday and released shortly afterwards. But the office was subsequently sealed by the authorities and remains shut.

As long as a country (A) is dependant on country ( for it's energy, Country (A) is Country (B's) biach.  The USA is just one small skirmish away from suffering the same fate as Switzerland.  The Iranians and the Russians along with Venezuela's president Chavez are exploiting the USA's gluttony for oil.  We are fighting a war that many people do not realize is happening.  The war is over the US economy, the battlefield is in the state run business offices of the PDVSA, OAO Gazprom.

The oil producing haters see the USA as one giant crack whore, except our addiction is to black GOLD, we are oil whores.  We need the hit so we pay $4.00 for a gallon of gasoline.  The cost to pump one barrel of crude is about $5.00, Five bucks for 55 Gallons of crude.  We is gettin scrued over the crude, it hurts but still we pay.  They dont have to bomb us to pwn us, they simply strangle us by manipulating our energy security.  No energy, no electricity, no gasoline no security.

Because of the energy crisis, so called "peak oil", speculators are driving up the prices beyond any reasonable profit levels.  The oil companies potentially stand to make more money in the next ten years than they made in the entire preceding century.  What if the speculators that everyone seems to be blaming are Iranian, Russian, Venezuelan and/or others who want to pwn the USA.

Switzerland just sucked dick for oil because they are small nation.  The USA on the other hand is rather large with an economy that could destabilize the entire global economy, so the crack dealers are a little more careful about how they treat their best investment.  They dont want to punnish the USA, they want to OWN it, or pwn it so to speak.  If the USA gets pwned, guess what, YOU get pwned.

The phrase " got you over a barrel" is very appropriate here.  The oil producers have us over a barell, bent over a barrel to be precise, and slowly sticking it up our collective ass.  Is this something we should just get used to like a crack whore gets used to sucking dick because she/he needs a bowl?

To clarify why the USA is in Iraq and Afghanistan, the following exerpt may connect a few dots for you.

“We need to strengthen our oil companies in launching them as global firms,” Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said at Petrotech 2005, a conference organised by Oil & Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) in New Delhi in January. “China is ahead of us in planning for its energy security,” he warned. “India can no longer be complacent.” ONGC is India’s largest natural gas explorer. It and other state-run companies face increased competition from China’s three biggest oil companies, led by China National Petroleum (PetroChina Ltd.), in bids to drill fields in Russia, the Middle East and Africa. “We need to catch up with China because in whichever country we go, they have a presence—in exploration, refining and in gas,” said Proshanto Banerjee, chairman of Gas Authority of India Ltd. (GAIL Ltd.), the country’s biggest natural gas supplier.

Another form of "crack" is all the shit we get that's made in China.  China is responsible in part for doubling the price per bbl, and how do we retaliate? by going to Walmart or Dollar Stores and buying cheap shit.  There used to be a time when Made in Japan was synonomous with crap.  Maybe you are too young to remember when if someone had something made in Japan it was something to be ashamed of.  Japan really pulled itself by the bootstraps, albiet with the help of an American named W. Edwards Demming.  An American for crying out loud was the person that helped Japan become an economic powerhouse.

When Demming pitched his methodology to US manufacturers, they laughed at him.  So he took his bright ideas to Japan, and look what happened.

Back to China.  So every time we buy ( yes, we.... I am guilty too)
Every time we buy something made in China we assist those who want to pwn us.
We help build up their military so that when we become desperatly poor from the greatest economic depression to hit the world in a few years to come, they will have the military might to defend themselvs from us.  It's worth noting thaqt while the Chineese and Russians are very smart and resourseful, their best resource is still espionage.  They will fight us and kill Americans with our own technology that they have stolen from who?  us, thats right, our own technology.

Sometimes they dont have to steal it, they just buy it.  Does the name Rosenberg ring any bells?  It should, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg are the couple that sold American nuclear secrets to the USSR.  Two Jews, the USSR that persecuted Jews, The USA that helped establish a Jewish state, more like giving back just one tiny parcel of land the Jews were beaten, murdered and forced out of and a whole lot of money.  I suppose everyone has their price.

What's your price?  Are you buying or selling? Either way, you may be aiding and abetting an enemy or future military foe of the United States of America.  You may not like it but the fact is, it is a dog eat dog world.  pwn or get pwned.
