The Difference Between Power and Energy.

Does anyone remember a 60's British TV show called The Avengers?  I recall an episode where the duo encountered a mad scientist.  The lab coat maniac had a silly notion that electricity could be transmitted through the air.  I never thought about the significance of that episode untill I learned more about Tesla.

Our world is being threatened by lots of things, war, famine, disease, energy crisis, climate change, these are the main problems.  Every aspect of the aformentioned are controlled and exploited by a very select few individuals who truly hold all the worlds power in their hands.  Who supports the political powers aka governments?  Supposidly, we the people do, or at least we may think we do.  The real driving force behind every economy is industry.  With a healthy industry, you have a healthy tax paying base of citizens that feed the monster.  The monster's diet is green and gold and is swimming in a black sea of energy, without a "GG diet", the monster will starve.  If the masses are to be controlled, as in Communist Russia, every resource down to the smallest detail has to be regulated.  If the government controls energy, the government controls everything.

A relevant example of control can be found in Cuba's history.  Prior to Castro, Cuba had no difficulty feeding it's people with the abundance of natural resources right on the island.  After Castro, every morsel of food was rationed, completly controlled by the government.  Some may argue it was for a fair socialist style distribution system, but the exploitable fact is, if a community were to revolt, as the Guajiros did, Castro could simply starve them instead of fight them.  Cut off the supply of energy to a body or machine,  they loose the capacity to produce their own food.  Castro controlled his grid with rationing cards; no cards, no food or fuel.

Once Castro got everyone on the grid, he had near total control over Cuba's people.   In Escambrey, the resistance to Castro was fierce.  Led by Batista's brightest military minds and backed by Escambrey's mountain folks, the resistance had brains, brawn and a burning patriotic desire to remain free from communism.  Once the Guajiros wre cut from the grid, it was the end of the original plan of a revolution for democracy.

Lets think about  "The Grid".  Conceptually, the grid is the whole cycle of energy production.  Without energy, we can't drive, cook, heat, cool or light up the night.  To deny a population energy is to ensure their demise through famine.  Oil, Coal, Methanol, Natural gas: all of these things have to be drilled into or  dug up, then  pumped, transported etc.  A new sysyem for energy eliminating fossil fuels or eliminating the need for a government regulated supply would disrupt the system.  Oil rig workers, truck drivers, truck manufacturers, ocean tankers, Exxon/Mobile, Shell, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia.  The grid goes deep, very deep.  What was mentioned is only the tip of the iceberg.

The global oil market is based on US dollars, this makes Venezuela and Iran very unhappy.  Crude oil has been selling for over $100.00 a barrel recently, that makes Chaves and Ahmadinijad very happy.  Not because they are getting rich, it's because it's making us poor.  Other members of the grids buracracy are probably happy about the soaring prices because that means profits up the wazoo.  Venezuela has been pushing to switch the oil trade currency from USD to the Euro.  Why would they want to do that?  Because in Euros, they can play with their money.  While the USD is all over the world as the baseline for the global economic system, it kinda puts a chink in their aspirations to beat us down.

If anyone accuses the USA of being an evil empire, there may be some merit to their statement.   I don't believe the US is interested in world domination Hitler or Communist style.  If the Commies, Nazis and terrorists stayed home after WW II, the US would not have had to run all over the world stopping the spread of violent takeovers.  The Communist ideology is world dominance, the Islamic fundimentalst ideology is global domination, and Christianity hassimilar objectives.  It is the way we go about achieving goals that matters most, not the actual goal,  It scares people that oil is traded with George Washington's  face iconicaly attached of their nations economic sucess.

China, Korea and Vietnam to name a few would be nothing more than nations on a map if the communist Russians did not freak out and try to dominate the world.  The only controversies about our south east asian friends would be which reseraunt to patronize when we wanted an ethnic culinary treat for dinner.  When one thinks of empires, The Roman empire, the British empire, and many others come to mind.  The whole idea of empires seems almost silly to an american, however, when one thinks about how America became so powerful, it opens the door to see how foreginers could mistake our economic sucess as an empiricale quest.  The mark of every empire is the emporors face on a coin.

Critics frequently cite America's meddling in other country's affairs.  We cant really argue that the government doesn't, but as far as I know, the US has never sent a soldier anywhere unless someone was threatening our ability to live free or live well.  I feel the true reasons the US winds up fighting wars can be found in the boardrooms and in the exclusive members only clubs of every nation where the elite class rubs elbows.  The wealth of the elite funds the military, some of the loot is given back to the government, some to pay off uuuum, "agreement fees" oh what the hell, let's just call it what it is, bribes, kickbacks or payola.  And  just enough money is filtered back down into society to keep the economic engines running,(can't starve the animals now can they).  The ruling class is smart enough to keep a gas tank full, they are usually smart enough to keep their little meat and bones machines running too.  It all works out in a delicate ballance, they get to stay fat and happy so long as they can convince us that we are happy too.  The loss of control and economic superiority would be a crushing blow to the industrial power base if free energy ever becomes a reality.  I wonder what will happen when it does become a reality?

If one were to build a model of how everything is interconnected, it would be a monumental task.  Advances in AI make large scale theoretical modeling a reality and quite accurate too.  It does not take a multi-million dollar AI to figgure out that the rich would no longer be rich if free unregulated energy was possible, but what would the  implications be.  Is planetary or atmospheric energy safe? Could tapping into mother earth for free energy somehow destabalize the harmony between Earth and human brains, somehow upsetting  the resonanting frequencies?  I've been wondering a bit about Tesla's work lately and came up with an erie thought; if humans and earth resonate on the same frequency, is our body's electrical charge somehow connected with the big battery we live upon?  Are we Earth powered?

Nothing can be gained or created without consumption, There is a cost of consumption in  loss of efficency.  Think about all the energy that has to be consumed just to produce and deliver one gallon of fuel to the gas station pump.  The crops the oil workers eat, the machines that run on oil to produce the crops, the electricity generated for the heavy equipment production industry, they are all interconnected.  Now think about what would happen if a free energy system were developed.  The farmer would save on fuel costs, hopefully they would pass the savings on to the consumer.  Air pollution would eventually become a non-issue.  People would not develop respratory problems.  It all sounds wonderfull, that is, unless you are a doctor who specializes in resperatory problems, a shareholder in so and so electric company, the owner of a nuclear power plant that has just become a  huge ecological liability or if you were one of the filthy rich pigs who profit every day from carbon based energy.

Energy is everywhere, even in a cold granite boulder.  Water, plain old H20 is bursting with energy.  The last time I checked, hydrogen burns real good and even better if accelerated with oxygen.  Atoms seem to make out alright without any oil companies.  So why are we still burning rotted liquified highly processed fossil fuels?
