Captain America
After my last article that was a bit heavy I decided to put something light up.
In recent months Marvel Comics decided to Kill off Capt. America. An American icon since WWII. This is a plot device and I'm sure within a year we'll have the Cap back but it'll be someone other than Steve Rogers the original. I'm sure this was done to boost sales, and freshen up the character a bit as is normal in comics.
So thinking about this election, the Death of Captain America, and my love of comic book movies I decided that I'd put this up for the world to see if they haven't already.
Back in 1990, seems like yesterday but damn its an entire adult life, there was a low budget movie made about Captain America. This was brought on by the Batman craze that spurred such shows like the Flash (Brilliant show, stupidly killed by its network by constantly having its time slot shuffled around). This quintessential American hero was brought to life pretty faithfully if badly. The acting is bad, the costume looks horrible, and its so dated looking that I laughed at the characters wardrobe. The big fx scene in the beginning was atrocious and failed to be even marginally believable.
But that being said it really isn't a bad movie. It's far from being a good movie, don't get me wrong, but its better than a lot of much bigger budget movies. It is faithful to Cap's plight as a man out of time. He's lost about 50 years and everyone he loved is dead or old and decrepit. His lack of culture shock can be attributed to the loss of nearly half a century and those difficulties that presents. Worth a watch if you keep an open mind, and remember this was made nearly 20 years ago.
You just might enjoy it ![]()
So to our faithful readers I present in its entirety, Captain America.

I was gong to watch this movie, but then I decided that it would be more fun to stab myself in the head several times with a rusty piece of sheet metal. Now… where did I put my Band-Aids? And why is my jaw locking up?
